F.A.Q.What happens when a claim occurs? When you have a claim, the insurance company appoints an insurance professional known as a Loss Adjuster to represent their interests. The Loss Adjuster is employed by the insurance company and works on their behalf. They do not work on your behalf or prepare your claim. You have the option of handling the claim yourself or appointing your own professional - an Insurance Assessor, to represent you.
What is a Loss Adjuster? The Loss Adjuster is employed by the insurance company and works on their behalf. They do not work on your behalf or prepare your claim but after inspecting the property, they will wait for you to submit the claim. If you do not know the full scope of cover, clauses and extensions in your policy you may not get your full entitlement. How much do you pay? We do not charge for our initial consultation. If you have a claim, the fee for our services is a percentage of the settlement and will be explained to you at our initial site inspection and given to you in writing. This fee varies depending on a number of factors, but the standard fee is 10% plus VAT of the final settlement amount paid, with a minimum fee which can vary depending again on factors that will be considered at the initial meeting. This fee agreement will also be payable for all interim payments, but the end total of fees owing shall not exceed that as originally agreed. If you do not receive a payment from Insurers, we do not charge a fee, No win No Fee. |
Why appoint an Assessor? An Insurance Assessor handles your claim on your behalf, negotiating against the Insurance Company and their representative. Why not use my Insurance Broker to handle my claim? You are fully entitled to use your broker to handle your claim if you wish. However a broker’s main business is to advise on the type and level of insurance required and to obtain a good price for the provision of same.
